Ride with Pride: the first eco-bike challenge to protect the La Mesa watershed

I caved in. I was initially thinking of just dropping by to take pictures and socialize with the marshals, but after giving it much thought (three minutes to be exact), I decided - what the heck - I'm joining the Ride with Pride mountain bike race on October 19, 2008 at the La Mesa Nature Reserve.

How can I go wrong? The P400 entry fee is shouldered by ABS-CBN's HR department. The venue is my favorite trail network of all time with a healthy mix of single and doubletracks. All I have to do is train a bit and enjoy the race.

No, I don't have any plans of winning the event. I'll be happy if I get to overtake a couple of riders on the course. In the Men's Health Race a few years back, I managed to be in the top 20 in my category, but I guess this would be a pretty difficult feat this time as there are only two categories: 18+ and 36+.

Thinking of joining the race? You better head to the following on or before October 11, 2008:
  • Bantay Kalikasan Office (ABS-CBN Foundation, Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City)

  • Life Cycle Bike Shop (G-Strip, Greenhills Shopping Center)

  • All Terra Bike Shop (Club 650, Libis, Quezon City)

  • ROX (Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City)
